DESCRIPTION.
ÑAÑO is inspired by pre-Hispanic graphic systems and iconography from Ecuador (Valdivia, Jama-Coaque, Quitu-Cara), reinterpreting forms from petroglyphs and ceramics into a contemporary typographic structure. Its design balances rigidity and fluidity: precise outlines evoke architecture and glyphs, while softened interiors recall ceramic modeling and natural erosion, reflecting the tension between structure and human gesture.
DESCRIPTION.

DEVELOPED.
Development of the typeface family (four weights + italics, 317 glyphs), creation of a hand-bound specimen book with toner-printed sections and gold risograph details. Three styles: Dotted (pre-Hispanic decorative patterns), Fluid (continuous, gestural strokes), and Base (essential, clear, and solid version).
